My name is Estée Park, and my life has been changed for the better because I have had the opportunity to participate in competitive soccer my entire life. For my senior project, I am making a podcast that shows that not all girls are this lucky. In this series of interviews, I will set
out to figure out how much opportunity women and girls are getting for soccer
in different countries around the world. I will be speaking with
representatives from five different countries: Nicaragua, the United States, Costa
Rica, Lesotho, and Colombia. I want find out what the role of women in society
is in these countries, and how that translates women and girls access to
soccer. I’m curious to know about barriers, perception of female athletes, pay
inequity, and anything else that adds to what the women’s soccer culture is
like in these countries. My goal is to point
out the obvious inequity between men’s and women’s soccer, and hear ideas from
the people I am interviewing on what can be done to eliminate the injustice.

I love this project, Estee! Girl Power!!!! We need so much more of this kind of information out in the world. You are doing your part to lift up women, and show the importance of sport. Truly powerful - I am super proud!
